Review:

The second book in the Moojag series sees Nema and Moojag discover three old grannies with fading memories and realize they are trapped and being held underground. Inspired by the author's gran, this cli-fi middle-grade/9+ story was a great way to explore dementia, aging, and memory loss in an accessible way for younger kids.

Working well as a stand-alone book and sequel, there was an introduction of a lot of new beings and characters which may have had more descriptions in the first book, but the illustrations throughout helps keep you visually grounded in what's going on.

I'm really enjoying the trend in authors starting their own publishing press to give representation to books that have historically excluded Disabled and Neurodivergent voices and am excited to discover Spondylux as part of that!
